twenty10 Bronzie promotion at North Bondi 23 October 2011!!!!
With patrol season kicking off last weekend (thank goodness) Lifesavers with Pride are stretching themselves this year, to not only promote equity, acceptance and the GLBT community within lifesaving, but also promote lifesaving within the GLBT community.
The committee have engaged with twenty10, and organisation that supports and works with young people, communities and families of diverse genders and sexualities, organising a beach awareness and orientation session.
This is an opportunity for us to not only teach young GLBT people about the beach, but also encourage some to undertake their bronze medallion. Whilst we will be gathering at North Bondi, this is an opportunity for LWP members from all clubs to come and spruik their own club in a bid to attract new bronzies, and ultimately increase our LWP numbers as well.
Keep the afternoon of 23 October free, more details to come!

Who wants to help raise funds for the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service this Thursday night?

Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service – fundraising Stonewall Hotel Thursday 11 August 2011
LWP are supporting Roger Moresi (a LWP from Coogee). He is raising funds for the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter Service (which is no longer receiving funding from the Government – what?!?!!!). Roger is running in the City to Surf to raise funds for the Service and has a charity event at Stonewall Hotel this Thursday. Roger hopes to raise an additional $2,000 at Stonewall! He is very passionate about this and would appreciate all the support we could offer. LWP agree to go along to Stonewall and rattle some tins for Roger, in uniform of course!!!

Annual Mascot Bunning's BBQ
Our very successful and solid public awareness Bunnings Mascot BBQ is fast approaching early next month on the 4th September! Any members who can offer to turn a sausage or two, squirt some sauce, place some meat in a white bun or collect some money for a few hours to help keep this great fund raiser pumping, please let us know.

2 Sunday 4 September 2011: Bunnings Hardware BBQ fundraising event at Mascot/Alexandria.
3 Friday 23 September 2011: Buck$ Night for Marriage Equality fundraising event at Slide.
4 Weekend of 28, 29 and 30 October 2011: Coast Out at Coffs Harbour NSW.
Assistance Required; the Committee has the following positions available:
1 Secretary: to assist with the day to day running of the Committee.
2 Social Reporter: to assist with reporting on events to our members via photography, emails and administering our blog page.
